If you're having a bad day and need to get out of town, try this short day trip to SF. Coffee, sandwich, cocktail, and a walk on the beach is just what you need.
The last time I needed to get away I headed to San Francisco for an afternoon that turned out to be just what I needed.
I left Sacramento just before lunch. When I got to SF I knew I wanted to check out the latest Sightglass Coffee. Smaller than their flagship in SOMA, this sight glass is small but beautiful. As always their coffee was delicious.
As I parked I noticed a place next door that looked like it may be a good lunch stop. It was. After coffee I stopped by Salumeria which has some great sandwiches and was the perfect late lunch spot.
I wanted to just wander and one of my favorite places is across town by the beach. I drove to Outerlands and grabbed a quick cocktail. Outerlands is the perfect mix of modern and beach with an impressive scrap wood interior.
After grabbing a drink I wandered down the street to Ocean Bean, over the dunes, and enjoyed a walk on the beach to clear my head. During summer you can find many people having bon fires and enjoying the view of the golden gate bridge. Just what I needed.
